MSR – Brooks & Dunn – Reboot
So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I will be talking about the latest album from Country Music Duo Brooks & Dunn. This time Brooks & Dunn newest album is titled “Reboot” and was released on April 5th, 2019. Now a little more about Brooks & Dunn.
So Brooks & Dunn is a Country Music Duo with 22 number hits and you can find some of their biggest hits on this Reboot album. In 1990 Ronnie Dunn, & Kix Brooks were put together and they formed Brooks & Dunn. Now Kix Brooks counts down the Billboard Country Music Airplay Chart on his weekly Saturday, & Sunday Radio show all across America. And Brooks & Dunn are currently with their best friend Reba doing their Vegas shows. And now more about this iconic album.
So this features 9 artists that have all gotten number ones on the MSR (Midnight Star Report), which is my weekly Country Music Countdown (Which combined now CMT (Country Music Television), and the Billboard Country Music Airplay Chart, and I use to have GAC (Great American Country) on the list as well til the show ended). And those artists of today didn’t fight over any songs that they wanted to sing with Brooks & Dunn. So some standouts on this album you should check out such the current single with Luke Combs “Brand new man”, “Ain’t nothing ‘bout you” with Brett Young, “Neon moon” with Kacey Musgraves, “Hard workin’ man” with Brothers Osborne, and “Believe” with Kane Brown. And I only picked a few of the hits. There are a lot of good ones but I didn’t want to list them all but here is the track list now.
1. Brand new man (With Luke Combs).
2. Ain’t nothing ’bout you (With Brett Young).
3. My next broken heart (With Jon Pardi).
4. Neon moon (With Kacey Musgraves).
5. Lost and found (With Tyler Booth).
6. Hard workin’ man (With Brothers Osborne).
7. You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone (With Ashley McBryde).
8. My Maria (With Thomas Rhett).
9. Red dirt road (with Cody Johnson).
10. Boot scootin’ boogie (With Midland).
11. Mama don’t get dressed up for nothing (With LANco).
12. Believe (With Kane Brown).
And that’s a wrap for the track list. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this album a 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is a good album featuring Today’s artists and their takes on Classic Brooks & Dunn songs. But it was also very difficult to get the album in a store. But that isn’t against this album. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. See ya all next time.

Singles of the year goes to – Dan + Shay – Tequila. (Maybe it could have gone to Luke Bryan on Most people are good.)
New female artist of the year goes to Ashley McBryde.
New male artist of the year goes to Luke Combs.
New duo or group of the year goes to LANco.
Duo of the year goes to Dan + Shay. (After scoring 2 number ones on the MSR so far. There is no complaints here.)
Vocal group of the year goes to Old Dominion. (Only ones who had a shot at this could be Midland.)
Male Artist of the year goes to Thomas Rhett. (Maybe all deserve this but I think Dierks the most. But Thomas Rhett is a good choice as well.)
Album of the year goes to Kacey Musgraves. (Kacey is on a roll with album of the year winning. I could see Dierks winning as well.)
Dick Clark’s Artist of the decade goes to Jason Aldean.
Musical event of the year goes to Dierks Bentley featuring Brothers Osborne – Burning man.
Music video of the year goes to Chris Janson – Drunk girl.
Female artist of the year goes to Kacey Musgraves. (Again on a roll, but it could either go to Maren or Carrie.)
Entertainer of the year goes to Keith Urban (I just love Keith Urban.)
And that’s a wrap for the performances, and the award winners for the 54th ACM (Academy of Country Music Awards). And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this show a 3.5 out of 5 stars. There were a lot of very good performances including George Strait’s, Eric Church & Ashley McBryde’s, New music from Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley & Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris with her friends Brothers Osborne and just so much more to pick. But there were some that maybe shouldn’t have been part of the show. Again overall a good show that I can’t complain too much. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. See ya all next time.
“You’ve got my back even when I’m wrong
You’re the only one who knows me and my heart can’t get along
I got some reasons to cry but can’t tell you which one
But you don’t ask no questions, you just hold me ‘til I’m done
And when I’m lookin’ to fight, you flat refuse
I can’t live without you”
— Ashley McBryde, Andy (I Can’t Live Without You)
