MSR – CMT Crossroads – Meghan Trainor & Brett Eldredge

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), we will be talking about the latest episode from the series CMT Crossroads.  This one combines Meghan Trainor, & Brett Eldredge which would blend pop and country into one world.  The show took place on CMT (Country Music Television) on Directv channel 327 and the original air time was 10pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday September 3rd, 2018.

Other info for Meghan Trainor is the fact she has wrote songs for Rascal Flatts, & Lauren Alaina.  So let’s get started with the set list now.

Set list.
Wanna be that song.
No  excuses.
Beat of the music.
Like I’m gonna lose you.
Drunk on your love.
Let you be right.
Islands in the stream. (Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers cover).
Haven’t met you.
All about that bass.

And that’s a wrap for the set list.  And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this show a 3.25 out of 5 stars.  The show wasn’t bad.  And you got some number one songs from Brett Eldredge who is starting to find his groove in country music.  And a continue from Brett Eldredge’s Glow album (Christmas album).  With Baby It’s cold outside.  Thanks for taking the time to read this review.  See ya all next time.

MSR – Cole Swindell – All Of It

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I will be reviewing the country music superstar Cole Swindell’s new album “All of It”.  The new cd was released on August 17th, 2018 and is titled “All of it”.

Now a little about the career of Cole Swindell who went from selling t-shirts at a Luke Bryan concert and to even writing songs for Luke as well like “Roller coaster”.  And he has huge hits like “You should be here”, “Hope you get lonely tonight”, & “Ain’t worth the whiskey”.  And also recorded a number one with “Flatliner”, a song he wrote for Dierks Bentley and they did together on the MSR (Midnight Star Report).  That is my very own country music video countdown that is weekly combining GAC (Great American Country), & CMT (Country Music Television).

Now a little about this 12 track cd and some of the highlights from “All of it”.  Of course the first single released to radio was “Break up in the end”.  There are so many songs that are a standout on this album.  So Cole’s headlining tour is titled “Reason to drink” which features Chris Janson, & Lauren Alaina.  Other songs you should check out are “All of it”, “I’ll be your small town”, & “The ones who got me here”.  My opinion for the standout track is “Dad’s old number”.  Still remembering your loved ones former number and calling them but not having them answer cause they have died is a very emotional track.  And Cole always pulls on our heart strings.  Here is the track listing now.

Track list.
1. Love you too late.
2. All of it.
3. Somebody’s been drinkin’.
4. Sounded good last night.
5. Break up in the end.
6. I’ll be your small town.
7. The ones who got me here.
8. 20 in a Chevy.
9. Reason to drink.
10. Her.
11. Both sides of the Mississippi.
12. Dad’s old number.

And that’s a wrap for the track list on Cole Swindell’s “All of it” album.  And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this album a 5 out of 5 stars.  The reasons behind the rating is because Cole Swindell is so underrated for all that he does.  And I felt like every song ended up being better than the last.  And also he gave some shout outs to Jason Aldean, & Alabama on some of the songs.  Thanks for taking the time to read this review.  See ya all next time.

And that’s a wrap for the set list and what they played.  So on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this show a 3.5 out of 5 stars.  You got to see a lot of performances of songs that are going to hit number one or already have on billboard airplay charts.  Thanks for taking the time to read this review.  See ya all next time.

MSR – Luke Combs

MSR – Luke Combs – This One’s For You Too (Deluxe Edition)

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I will be talking about the deluxe edition of Luke Combs’ debut album “This one’s for you” titled “This one’s for you too”.  This version was released on June 1st, 2018 which was a year later then the regular edition of the album.

So what did Luke Combs do in that year.  Luke Combs got 3 number ones which you can find all of them on this album.  They are the songs “Hurricane”, “When it rains it pours”, & “One number away”.  And he also has been recording a lot of new music that he felt like many fans should be able to hear them and so he added 5 extra tracks on the deluxe edition.

Luke Combs in Interviews is a really big fan of Brooks & Dunn which I think the “Honky tonk highway” pays tribute to them.  A big song for Luke on the top country songs chart is “Beautiful crazy” and also heard “She got the best of me” first on the Highway “Channel 56 on Sirus xm”.  And there are 17 total tracks on this album.  And also Luke Combs is on tour with Jason Aldean, & Lauren Alaina at the time of this review.

1. Out there.
2. Memories are made of.
3. Lonely one.
4. Beer can.
5. Hurricane.
6. One number away.
7. Don’t tempt me.
8. When it rains it pours.
9. This one’s for you.
10. Be careful what you wish for.
11. I got away with you.
12. Honky tonk highway.
13. Houston, we got a problem.
14. Must’ve never met you.
15. Beautiful crazy.
16. A long way.
17. She got the best of me.

And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this CD a better review cause it is a deluxe edition which means more songs to enjoy if you are a fan.  And with already 3 number ones under his belt.  His potential is actually pretty good.  3.75 stars out of 5.  Thanks for taking the time to read this review.  See ya all next time.  And he also recorded a number 1 on my weekly countdown with “When it rains it pours”.  That is the MSR (Midnight Star Report).
